Koketsu ni irazunba koji wo ezu

You my reader may have noticed that I have recently begun to write about common phrases that float around in the English language. I have twisted some of them into new better phrases. An example of such would be “What does not kill you will not make you stronger.”
This is the next installment in that series. Today I shall tackle a Japanese proverb. Koketsu ni irazunba koji wo ezu. Which for all you non Japanese speaking people means if you do not enter the tiger's cave, you will not catch its cub. And I am sure that this translation has illuminate the true meaning of this phrase to you. If not do not worry I will be explaining it in the next paragraph.
I see you are still here. I love you reader. Yay. Okay back to business. If you do not enter the tiger's cave, you will not catch its cub. This phrase means that in order to accomplish your goal you will have to struggle. Getting the cub require you to go into the tiger's cave. Your goal whatever it is will be guarded by some kind of gatekeeper. It will take everything you have to enter the tiger's cave. Fear will paralyze you, but you know what you have to do. If you want to get that cub you got to step inside that tiger's den and hope you don't run into the tiger before you see the cub. If you do … well um. Improvise.
And as always do not actually step into a tiger's den to stealing cub. I think that is called poaching
